Another huge part of my healing practice is dance and movement, especially to really epic breakup songs.
It is not always easy to choose to do the thing that actually works to manage the distress and hard feelings I am experiencing in the moment. Sometimes I like to sit in my dirty diaper for way too long or distract myself with busy work or instagram. But lately I have been able to listen to my true hearts desire and I can do the thing I would tell my child to do for himself and I give myself the love. I do the better thing for myself. I am still in the painful process of tending to my broken heart and healing my codependency folks! This shit is hard and it runs so deep and it requires so much introspection and accountability and responsibility and allowing and being present with my suuuuuper hard and painful feelings. I am re-mothering myself in a way I was never mothered. It is so beautiful to know I can do that and how loving I am to myself and how loving I am to the world. One of the kind things I am trying to do for myself is to listen to my heart and followed my desires. Because of that intention and putting it into practice I pulled my car over the other day to admire the most beautiful cow I have ever seen (it’s the black one with the white speckles on its butt) and I was given the bonus gifts of breathing fresh foggy morning air, feeling so small next to big rolling hills, mountains and the big, blue, expansive sky, eating juicy delicious ripe blackberries and a finding a nice place to pee. Just a friendly offering/ reminder that you have time. Pull over. Look at beauty. Breath the air. Look up. Eat the berries. Go pee on the Earth. Let people see your butt.
